Twitter issue

The Twitter Issue is a playful series of very small oil paintings on panel, created during a period of reflection — almost revelation — about the impact of the newly emerging social media on contemporary culture and society.

Each miniature stages an encounter: portraits of philosophers, thinkers, and scientists from the Western tradition are paired with mischievous little blue Twitter birds. The birds tease them, provoke them, perch on their shoulders, invade their space.

The dialogue is humorous, but not innocent.

These tiny intrusions suggest an inevitable shift — a future in which even the most solid pillars of intellectual history must confront the logic of immediacy, brevity, and constant digital chatter.

The series hints at a transformation: whether we like it or not, we are pushed toward collaboration with these new platforms, gradually accepting them as primary tools of communication.

In their small scale, the paintings carry a quiet question:
who is influencing whom?
