Development and Mimetism

Development and Mimetism is a single ink drawing on gray paper that reimagines Charles Darwin in the age of the smartphone. Here, evolution meets the everyday: Darwin’s thumb has stretched and adapted, perfectly suited to the endless scroll of a modern screen.

The drawing reflects not only human adaptation, but mimetism — our subtle, almost unconscious ability to blend with the demands of our environment. Just as species adapt to survive, Darwin himself becomes a mirror of the modern world, a creature shaped by technology as much as by nature.

A playful meditation on adaptation, change, and the strange continuities between the natural world and our inventions, this work invites both a smile and reflection on how life, in all its forms, continues to evolve around us.
