Tica nica
Tica Nica is a small, delicate series of pencil drawings created during my travels between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. For several weeks, I retreated to an isolated beach — difficult for tourists to reach — where I drew directly by the sea, armed with nothing but pencils and a few sheets of paper.
While the place felt remote and timeless, my snorkeling excursions revealed a sobering reality: traces of plastic and debris drifting among the marine life. In the drawings, subtle details echo this presence, weaving the fragile beauty of living creatures with the marks of human intrusion.
The series captures a quiet dialogue between observation, immersion, and reflection — a small testament to the wonders of the ocean, and a gentle reminder of the responsibility we carry toward the world we share.
